Derek Owens Charged with Murder 1 – Laura Coltrane?

Derek Owens is currently sitting in Johnson County lockup charged with First Degree Murder. His Facebook states he is in a relationship with Laura Coltrane. Laura Coltrane, of Olathe, has been found and identified dead.
Olathe Police found Laura Coltrane dead after being called last Friday. Originally classified as a “death investigation”, police upgraded it to a homicide on Saturday and that is when Owens was picked up and booked.
Laura’s MySpace page says:
First and foremost, I would like to meet Jesus. But,if I could meet a famous celebrity it would have to be either Shamar Moore, Lil Wayne, T.O., or David Beckham. They are some of the most beautiful and talented people ALIVE.
Derek and Laura had a discussion back and forth on Facebook about her “frontin’” on him on FB. Well, Mr. Owens, no worries on that happening any time again…
Owens will be in front of a Judge on Tues Feb 22, 2011 on charges of Murder First. Court records show he had Domestic Battery charges dropped against him on Feb 4, 2011.

Zoey Zane killer gets Life w/o Parole

Zoey Zane was a teen porn model. Emily Sander, born in Olathe, was a student at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.
Much to the family’s surprise, Emily was Zoey.
Today they are both dead.
Isreal Mireles and Emily Saunder were last seen leaving an east El Dorado bar together on the night of November 23, 2007. That would be the last time Sander was seen alive.
Isreal Mireles worked as a waiter in an Italian restaurant in El Dorado. It was a at a motel room next to this restaurant that blood was found in Mireles’ room. Sander’s car was found still parked at the bar and the rental car Mireles was driving was found abandoned on November 27, 2007 in Vernon Tx where he had relatives.
Sander’s body was found six days after her disappearance, on November 29, 50 miles east of El Dorado.
24-year-old Mireles was captured by Mexican Police with his pregnant 16 yo girlfriend in Mexico on December 19, 2007.
The trial for Mireles was held the week of February 8-12, 2010. He was charged with capital murder, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy. He was convicted on February 12, 2010 of rape and capital murder; the aggravated sodomy charge was dropped as part of the capital murder charge. On March 31st, 2010, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Edwin Roy “Jack” Hall is hopefully getting his in El Dorado CF-Central Prison. You may recall him as the indigent that kidnapped a young teenager girl from the Overland Park Target by Oak Park Mall. The story going around was Hall abducted Kelsey Smith as she was walking to her car after purchasing a 6-month anniversary present for her boyfriend. Target surveillance video caught some of the abduction in and out of frame. Kelsey, who was known to answer her cell wasn’t. Her car was found in the Macy’s parking lot around 9 pm June 2, 2007 with her purse and wallet but without Kelsey.
Because Hall is a pussy and couldn’t see going through what he put Kelsey through, on July 23rd, 2008 at 1:30 PM, he plead guilty to all four charges brought against him as part of a plea agreement. For all you law non-majors, a plea agreement usually means no death penalty.
On September 16, 2008 Johnson County District Judge Peter V. Ruddick sentenced Hall to life in prison without parole for the kidnapping, rape and murder.
