Call in anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers TIPS hot line at 816-474-TIPS.

This person is suspected of five rapes in five months and seems to be getting bolder. The initial attacks were concentrated in one area, but the most recent one is farther away.

Edwin R. Hall

Hall, Edwin R - Front

Hall, Edwin R - Front

Edwin Roy “Jack” Hall is hopefully getting his in El Dorado CF-Central Prison. You may recall him as the indigent that kidnapped a young teenager girl from the Overland Park Target by Oak Park Mall. The story going around was Hall abducted Kelsey Smith as she was walking to her car after purchasing a 6-month anniversary present for her boyfriend. Target surveillance video caught some of the abduction in and out of frame. Kelsey, who was known to answer her cell wasn’t. Her car was found in the Macy’s parking lot around 9 pm June 2, 2007 with her purse and wallet but without Kelsey.

June 6, 2007 Kelsey’s body was found near Longview Lake in southern Jackson County. Searchers were aided by a cell phone ping that hit a nearby tower on June 2. Later that evening, Hall was arrested and charged on June 7, 2007 with premeditated first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping. Hall was arraigned via video link and bond was set at $5,000,000. Further investigation led to strangulation as cause of death. Kelsey’s missing persons story was featured on America’s Most Wanted.

Because Hall is a pussy and couldn’t see going through what he put Kelsey through, on July 23rd, 2008 at 1:30 PM, he plead guilty to all four charges brought against him as part of a plea agreement. For all you law non-majors, a plea agreement usually means no death penalty.

On September 16, 2008 Johnson County District Judge Peter V. Ruddick sentenced Hall to life in prison without parole for the kidnapping, rape and murder.
