The Murder of 18-year old Keighley Alyea

DUSTIN HILT

DUSTIN HILT

——————UPDATE——————-

Yesterday, 1-19-10, a Johnson County Judge ruled there is enough evidence to go to trial. Hilt is the only one of the three that did not waive his right to a speedy trial. He will be back in March.
Gruesome details of how Keighley was murdered were revealed in yesterday’s court hearing. These cowards had an opportunity, it seems, to offer Keighley help after the initial round of beating and they chose not to.
It is for wimps like this that the death penalty is too kind.

Keighley Alyea disappeared last week without a trace. Her car was found recently and her phone had not been used. Her body was found Monday October 5, 2009 in Cass County, Mo. Three arrests were made Monday night and charges were made on Tuesday. One of the charged, Dustin Hilt, is the ex-boyfriend of Keighley Alyea. Dustin Hilt, 18, Joseph Mattox, 21, and Gerald Calbeck, 18, were all charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping in Johnson County court.

Motive and method have not been made public if even known yet. All but Hilt have clean Johnson County records and the charges that Hilt has faced previously had all been dropped by the prosecution.

The body was found in a field near East 235th Street and State Route K just north of Harrisonville on October 5, 2009.

These persons have only been charged and have not been found guilty or sentenced. KCMugshots is only releasing names due to the extensive publicity this case has already received. It was on Nancy Grace last night for goodness sake. All persons charged are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

**UPDATED** Father/Son Fraud Team; but they lived on Deer Creek!

WILMS_GRANT

Grant Wilms, 44

The Johnson County DA came out on Friday (8-28-09) with a story regarding three men, two of which are these guys and they happen to be Father and Son. Grant Wilms, 44, and Hermann Wilms, 74, along with Kenneth Opstein, 83, of Sioux City, Iowa, were arrested Thursday.

District Attorney Steve Howe said that the scam, which hooked people seeking a discount on prescription drugs, claimed many thousands of victims across the country. -KC Star

Both of these men are being held on $1,000,000 bonds. Mapping their addresses shows they were close proximity neighbors and fronted the fairways of Deer Creek. I have probably put a ball OB into one of their yards at some point in my life. But then just went back to my humble home that I didn’t acquire from fraulant actions against the elderly.

They are charged with 13 counts of ”Making a False Writing“  14 counts of “Theft” and 1 count of “Computer Crime

I bet they sent the old man in to make friends with our Parents and Grandparents so they could scam them to be able to drive luxury cars and live on the golf course.

***UPDATE***
Looks like the old man & his kid struck a plea deal on 11-16-09. Jury trial was cancelled and sentencing is scheduled for 1-06-10. Apparently the plea resulted in 4 Counts of ”Making a False Writing“; 3 charges of “Theft <$1000″; 1 charge of “Criminal Use of a Credit Card < $1000″

Only the Making a False Writing is a Felony albeit a Non-Person as well. I am guessing time served and probation. We’ll see what happens, shall we?
I would also expect to see a bond modification in the near future. $1,000,000 is a little high I would think for a level 8 non-person felony and some misdemeanors. I mean that’s like murder and kidnapping ransom bond.
