Angela Hook went missing after going shopping on December 5, 2009. On December 7, 2009 her Credit Card (CC) was used by two people that were not her. This is one suspect. His name is Jeffery Bender and he has a criminal history in JoCo that goes back to at least 1996. He is no stranger to the judicial system. His record contains drug charges for just about every drug and…wait for it… Criminal Use of a CC.
Mr. Bendure is currently being held on $100,000 bond for the charges of Identity Fraud and Criminal Use of a CC < $1000.
The other suspect in this case is Lisa Smith. She too has a record that dates back several years, including several Bad Check charges.
Ms. Smith is currently being held on $100,000 bond for the charges of Identity Fraud, Criminal Use of a CC < $1000 and Theft < $1000.
Angela Hook’s body was found in the back seat of her 2004 Dodge Stratus parked in the Shawnee Mission Medical Center Emergency parking lot on December 29,2009. She had been missing for 24 days.
There are stories floating around that the day after Hook went missing a call was made to SMMC Emergency that there had been an overdose and the body was in the parking lot. That is still under investigation.
Merriam Police are looking to talk to a man in the death of Angela Hook, who was found Tuesday afternoon frozen in her car in the parking lot of Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Police are looking for Aresteen “Butch” Young, Jr.
Young is 60-years-old, 6’3″ and 200 pounds. Anyone with any information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. Young is currently wanted in Wyandotte County on a narcotics violation.
